Severin Ahlmann muss erst noch überzeugt werden. Zu tief sitzt der Fehlschlag mit den Katamaranen. Nach längerem Zögern gibt er grünes Licht für die Aufnahme der Rinnenproduktion.  
Die Neuerung wird ab dem 1. Mai 1969 eingeführt, und zwar bereits unter dem bis heute bekannten Produktnamen ACO DRAIN.
