The different names of the individual companies – Severin Ahlmann Rendsburg, Severin Ahlmann Reith, and Ahlmann & Co. Andernach – were confusing and unintuitive for the market. For this reason, the abbreviation ACO for Ahlmann & Co. Andernach was gradually introduced as the brand and logo for all three companies. ACO was to become an unmistakable brand with a strong recognition value.


  • The old SAB lettering. The abbreviation stands for Severin Ahlmann Beton – the abbreviation was still in use in the 1960s, and had a certain popularity, although the name of the Rendsburg company had already been changed from Severin Ahlmann Beton to Severin Ahlmann, Rendsburg in 1951.


  • During the 1960s, the abbreviation ACO also became common in Rendsburg, initially still in blue, and often with the small addition SAB.
